Our Mission

All those who are interested in the study of Buddhism are welcome to our centre, regardless of nationality, race, color, creed or social class. We also welcome those who wish to devote their time, energy and money in support of the noble activities of the centre, by becoming regular members and/or by making donations.

Major part of our mission is covered by the following services:

  • To serve as a Buddhist Temple that caters to the religious needs of the  Buddhist population in Canada.

  • To serve as a centre for the dissemination of Buddhism among the interested non Buddhist population in Canada.

  • To provide a meditation centre in Canada.

  • To serve as a cultural centre for the Sri Lankans in Canada.

  • To serve as a centre for management of disaster donations.

  • To serve as a  study centre for Buddhism  in Canada.

  • To provide Buddhist counseling and mental healing facilities to the Canadian public.

  • To make available visiting lecturers and teachers in Buddhism who could be invited to schools, universities and other religious institutions, whenever needed.

  • To publish literature on  Buddhism, in a form intelligible to the west.

  • Opening branches in other provinces in Canada in order to extend our services to Buddhists in other areas.

  • To provide training facilities for interested persons in Buddhist lay and monastic life.
